Blood Drive In Jericho Seeks Donors, Especially O- And B-Negative Types
Community members are encouraged to donate blood this afternoon at the Jericho Public Library as demand remains high.
JERICHO, NY — The New York Blood Center is hosting a community blood drive on Tuesday afternoon at the Jericho Public Library, and O-negative and B-negative donors are especially needed, in addition to all other blood types.
The drive will take place on March 31 from 3 to 7 p.m. Organizers encourage eligible residents to consider donating and helping meet the ongoing demand for blood supplies.
To donate, participants must meet the following criteria:

- An ID with a signature or a photo.
- Weigh at least 110 lbs.
- No tattoos within the last 12 months.
- Aged between 16 and 75 years old.
- 16-year-0ld donors must have parental consent.
- Donors over 76 years old must bring a doctor's note.
Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker urges community members who are eligible to donate blood.
"By rolling up your sleeves, you are truly giving the gift of life and helping to ensure that patients can receive essential care in their time of greatest need," he said.

Eligible donors can make an appointment online or by calling 1-800-93-BLOOD (25663). Walk-ins will be taken as capacity allows.
