Box Truck Overturns, Fuel Spills After Crash In Syosset: PD
A Toyota Corolla sideswiped the truck on Berry Hill Road Tuesday afternoon, leading to injuries, police say.
SYOSSET, NY — A box truck overturned, spilling fuel in Syosset after it was sideswiped on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Nassau County police said that at 12:05 p.m. on Aug. 18, a 28-year-old man driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla northbound on Berry Hill Road near Schoolhouse Lane "accidentally veered into" the southbound lane and sideswiped a box truck. The box truck overturned during the crash – resulting in a fuel spill, police said.
The 28-year-old driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, while no other injuries were reported at the scene, according to police.

The Syosset Fire Department, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), the Nassau County Emergency Service Unit (ESU), and the Motor Carrier all responded to the scene on Tuesday, police said.
