Jackson Avenue Improvement Project – Week 17

The Jackson Avenue Improvement Project continued despite a rainy week.

Despite a rainy week, the construction crews continued their work along the east side of Jackson Avenue.

Manholes were installed and the top layer of the old road (northbound lane) was removed from Hillside Lane South to Greentrees Nursery School.

Further up the avenue by Devine Avenue, crews removed the white plastic fences from the houses with backyards that border the avenue. A temporary chain link fence was erected in its place. This prepares the way for the continuation of the installation of the new sidewalks.

Stanchions, possibly for new street lights, were installed along the sidewalk in front of Rite Aid and Lex Realty (corner of Ira Road). A portion of the existing sidewalk in front of the realty was also removed.
