OLMA Mock Trial Advances to Elite Eight Competition

Our Lady of Mercy Academy's Mock Trial team has made it to the Elite Eight of the Nassau County competition for the New York State 2013 Mock Trial Tournament.  The annual tournament is organized and sponsored by the New York State Bar Association and takes place in the Nassau County Supreme Court, whereby teams present their case in front of a judge in a courtroom.

In the preliminary rounds, Our Lady of Mercy’s team was awarded a win against Elmont and defeated Locust Valley.  After last week’s victory against Syosset High School, they proceeded to the Sweet Sixteen.  On Monday, March 4th the team competed against Yeshiva Ateres Yaakov and were once again successful in their competition.  They will argue their case as part of the Elite Eight on March 13.
