Vradis Confident in Syosset

Chris Vradis, is hoping the 2013 season is the year for the Braves

Chris Vradis has been playing baseball since he was six years old. Vradis, has been a part of many talented teams in his life. Now on Varsity for his senior season, Vradis feels this year’s Braves team has a chance to be the best team he has ever been on.

“We have really good leaders on this team,” Vradis said. “We all believe in one another and have worked so hard in the offseason to get to where we are today.”

After starting off the regular conference schedule 0-2, the Braves have won two straight games and are starting to click on all phases of the team.

“We have been getting much more production with runners in scoring position,” Vradis said. “We have been getting much more confident out there as a team and that has translated into wins for our squad.”

Vradis, is a part of an outfield which includes star players Joe Morris and Michael Schaake. The outfield trio specializes in defense and makes the Braves pitchers feel confident that if a ball is hard hit they can go up and make a play.

“They do a great job for us,” senior pitcher Jake Laine said. “We can count on those guys to make some plays for us when we are on the mound and keep us in some games.”

Vradis’, expectations for his team are nothing short of winning a county championship and he thinks that this year’s Braves team has a shot to accomplish the goal he has been dreaming about since he was a young child.

“In anything you play you want to win,” Vradis said. “We have high expectations here because we feel we have the type of team that can accomplish them.”
