Real live reindeer will again be living at Hicks Nurseries in Westbury. Comet & Blitzen arrive November 25 and depart December 24. Visit during store hours, which are, starting November 25, 8 am to 9 pm Monday - Saturday and until 8 pm on Sundays.

In addition to visiting the reindeer, there’s always a lot going on for children during the holiday season. Admission is free.

Animated Christmas Holiday Story: “A Sweet Family Christmas” features animated figures and a story about why Christmas is so special for families. Open during store hours. We are collecting non-perishable food for the Long Island Cares food bank. The drop-off box is located at the end of the animated story.

Mail letters to Santa in the North Pole Mailbox…and he will answer! Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope. The last date to leave a letter for Santa is December 18.

Visits with Santa: Friday November 25 - December 23 everyday from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. Bring your camera! Free.

Brass Band - Celebrate the holiday season with us with lively music and refreshments on the weekends. (beginning after Thanksgiving)

Children’s  Workshops:

1. Pine Cone Crafts - December 6, 7 and 8 at 4 pm. Children can decorate pinecones for Christmas and also create a pinecone birdfeeder Fee: $9.00. Reservations required.

2. Holiday Wreath - December 13, 14 and 15 at 4 pm. Children will decorate an artificial wreath with the symbols of the holiday and a big red bow. Fee: $9.00. Reservations are required.
