Firefighters Extinguish Blaze in Syosset Bagel Store [VIDEO]
No injuries have been reported, and the basement fire has been extinguished, according to firefighters.
Firefighters put out a fire in the basement of a closed Bagels Etc. on Jericho Turnpike with no reported injuries Tuesday evening, according to Second Assistant Chief, Peter Silver.
Silver said they received the call around 5:20 p.m. from , located next door, after smoke spread inside the restaurant. Bagels Etc. was closed at the time of the fire, as they close at 3 p.m., according to witnesses at the scene.
Debbie Bonelli, a manager at Salon, saw sirens from inside the salon, just a few doors down from the bagel store.

"I'm just glad everybody's OK," Bonelli said.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, and traffic on Jericho Turnpike has not appeared to have been affected. Both Mario's and a Chinese food restaurant next door have been temporarily closed while firefighters continue working, Silver said.

Jericho and Hicksville Fire Departments responded for backup, while fire marshals have been called to the scene.
