Football Teams Honor Veterans

Syosset football coaches promoted Wounded Warriors Project Saturday while local veterans took part in pregame coin toss between Farmingdale and Syosset.

The Syosset coaching staff wore camouflage T-shirts on the Braves sideline in support of the non-profit Wounded Warrior Project and fans in the stands were encouraged to donate.

A group of Korean and Vietnam era veterans were introduced to the crowd before the game and asked to take part in the ceremonial coin toss. Bob Thompson, Commander of Nassau Council VFW; Mike Walsh, Army; Nick Bartilucci, Army and William Santini, Commander of , were all on hand. was also represented.
