Got Potholes? How to Report a Pothole in Nassau County

Winter may be officially over, but leftover snow and ice will leave Nassau residents with some nasty potholes.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY - Today marks the first day of spring which (hopefully) means that the snow is finally over.

However, all the snow and ice from the winter left Nassau residents with an unpleasant gift - potholes.

If you have potholes in your area, worry not. You can report them to the Nassau County Department of Highways at (516) 571-6900 or through the Nassau Now mobile app.

If you use the app, you can take a photo of the area and send it to the Highway Department with the GPS location.

Nassau County reports pothole complaints in “real-time” to cities, towns and villages so that their highway crews can also be dispatched to address road conditions with urgency.

Once you report the pothole, the repair should be made within 24 hours.

“Mother nature takes its toll on all roadways during the winter months,” County Executive Edward Mangano said. “My administration has an aggressive program to fill potholes throughout Nassau in order to maintain the highest level of safety for vehicles and pedestrians on County roads.”
