Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) attended the Health and Welfare Council of LI meeting, held at the Melville Marriott on Wednesday, Sept. 11. The speakers included Gwen O'Shea, President/CEO of the Council, Cindy Scott of the Coalition against Child Abuse and Neglect, Kelly Ann Murray who spoke of the Affordable Care Act, and others who spoke on a variety of social and humane issues concerning care in NY hospitals and new legal regulations. Jacobs said, "It was a very informative event and a room filled with caring leaders from all of Nassau County."
