The United Jewish Appeal (UJA) sponsored a drive for families in need, held at the Solomon Schecter School of Long Island on Wednesday, August 21. Legislator Judy Jacobs, (D-Woodbury) attended the event and was amazed at the amount of school supplies that were donated. Jacobs said, "There are no words that could describe the thrill of seeing an entire gym filled with backpacks, books, crayons, pencils and all the supplies that give children confidence as they enter a new school year."
