Man Arrested After Failed Robbery Spree In Nassau: Police
The 27-year-old was arrested Thursday after trying to rob several businesses and a 69-year-old woman and stealing a tip jar, police say.

PLAINVIEW, NY - A Plainview man was arrested on Thursday after a failed robbery spree in Nassau County where he attempted to steal a purse from a 69-year-old woman who refused to give it to him and only managed to steal a tip jar from a local business, according to Nassau Police.
Robert Perdue, 27, was charged with first degree robbery and three counts of first degree attempted robbery, police said.
He will be arraigned on Friday.

According to police, Perdue entered Burger King on 501 Old Country Road in Plainview on Wednesday at 8:38 p.m., displayed a handgun to a store employee and demanded money from the register.
The employee ducked behind the counter and the Perdue fled the restaurant into the parking lot without any proceeds, police said.

At 8:55 p.m., he entered Uncle Pete's Gyro & Pizza on 27 Woodbury Road in Hicksville and demanded cash from the register, police said.
The owner, who noticed that he had a handgun in his waistband, picked up a stapler from the counter and threatened to throw it at Perdue, who then fled the restaurant without any proceeds, police said.
At 9:05 p.m., Perdue then entered the Dunkin Donuts on 333 Jericho Turnpike in Syosset, displayed a handgun to an employee and demanded cash from the register, police said.
After being told that the register needed a key to open it, Perdue became enraged, pushed the register to the floor, took a tip jar from the counter and fled the store, police said.
At 9:25 p.m., Perdue, while in the parking lot of Trader Joe's on 425 South Oyster Bay Road in Plainview, approached a 69-year-old woman, displayed a handgun and demanded her purse, police said.
The woman refused and Perdue then fled through the parking lot empty-handed, police said.
