Man Charged After Barricading Himself In Home For Hours: Police
Adrees Omar was seen chasing a naked 14-year-old before locking himself in the residence, police said.

WOODBURY, NY — A 25-year-old man was taken into custody on Tuesday after barricading himself in his home. It started just after 9 a.m. as he was seen chasing a 14-year-old naked girl, police said.
Adrees Omar, 25, refused to leave the home and would not allow officers inside during the hourslong ordeal, authorities said.
The girl suffered lacerations and was taken to a nearby hospital, Newsday said.

A joint investigation between the Special Victims Squad and the 2nd Squad revealed that Omar "was having ongoing sexual relations" with a 14-year-old female victim, police said.
He was transported to a hospital for evaluation. Omar faces charges that include first-degree criminal sexual act, second-degree rape and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, police said. Police said he will be arraigned when medically practical.
