Natalie Portman Weds 'Black Swan' Choreographer
Syosset native married fiance of two years, Benjamin Millepied, on the west coast Saturday.

Syosset's own Natalie Portman married her fiance of two years, Benjamin Millepied, this weekend in California.
People reported Portman and Millepied said "I do" in a private, Jewish ceremony in Big Sur on the central Californian coast Saturday.

"I now have the possibility of taking on French nationality. It would accomplish the Francophile dreams of my father and myself," she told [Madame Figaro] magazine. "I lived in Paris when I was 12 and my father gave me the name Natalie as an homage to Gilbert Bécaud's song. Everything in my life has drawn me towards a French family."

Portman met Millepied in 2009 on the set of Black Swan, the film that later earned her a and an Millepied, 35, is a French dancer and choreographer and helped orchestrate Portman's performance. Portman and Millepied have a 14-month-old son, Aleph.
Born in Jerusalem in 1981, Portman and her parents moved to Connecticut and eventually settled in Syosset. A 1999 graduate of Syosset High School, Portman continued her education at Harvard University, graduating in 2003.
