'Near Normal' Commute Expected Wednesday

Morning rush in Syosset should have fewer surprises, LIRR says.

After two days of cancellations and delays across Long Island, LIRR officials announced they expect a "near normal" commute Wednesday morning.

In an alert, LIRR said commuters can expect a "near normal Wednesday morning rush hour" on all lines.

The return to normally scheduled train service is expected as Amtrak crews wrap up repairs on East River tracks and switches damaged in Monday's train derailment.

While a regular morning rush is expected, LIRR alerted commuters to keep an eye on their homepage for any last minute updates.
