Obituary: Joseph E. Phelan, Longtime Syosset Resident, Dies at 93
Visitation will take place on Sunday.

Died: August 17, 2016
Visitation: Sunday, August 21 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Beney Funeral Home on 79 Berry Hill Road in Syosset.
Service: Monday, August 22 starting at 9:45 a.m. at the St. Edward Confessor R.C. Church on 205 Jackson Avenue in Syosset.

Obituary: Joseph E. Phelan, a longtime resident of Syosset, passed away on Wednesday, August 17. He was 93.
Joseph served as Captain of the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth.
He is survived by his children: Joseph Jr. (Laurel), Phillip (the late Sharon), Ruth (Richie) Miller, Thomas (Janet), Mary Lambert, Elizabeth, Frances (Thor) Siegfried, and Edward (Lynn).
In addition, he is survived by sixteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, his brother Gene (Rosalie) and sister-in-law of Marge.
Interment will take place at the Calverton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Hospice Care Network in Woodbury.
