Play Tennis or Golf? Bored At the Gym? Workout For Your Sport and Your Body!

Make your workouts more efficient, better for your favorite sport, and even better for your body!

Have you ever stopped to think about time you spend playing the game you love and the not-as-much-fun time you spend at the gym? Have you considered working out in a way that benefits your game and your body--simultaneously? Do you work with a trainer who supports your tennis or golf game with exercises that help to prevent injury, enhance performance, and get you in great shape? Are they certified beyond their personal trainer certification to train you for tennis or golf fitness? BASI Pilates instructor and SWEATSTYLE PILATES studio owner, Lori Gross, is also a certified Tennis Performance Trainer through the International Tennis Performance Association. Lori will be begin her Titleist Performance Trainer Level 1 certification for golf fitness in November but is already becoming known for her Pilates approach to golf fitness. She has been studying golf fitness, writing articles for Golfwrx.com, and working with local players.

Resistance training for tennis performance has two functions: 1) to improve a player’s strength because explosive power is essential in the game today, and 2) to decrease the risk of injury. Pilates is a natural fit when it comes to training for tennis performance. The Pilates repertoire trains the body for strength, flexibility, balance, rotation, and stability — all of these key components increase power to teach the player to use the muscles in a way that prevents injury.

SWEATSTYLE PILATES is located in Great Neck. Contact the studio at 516.644.8808.
