Robbery Suspect Arrested After Police Follow Trail of Blood
The incident occurred Saturday in Hicksville.

Authorities found the 34-year-old man who attempted to rob a Hicksville home after he fled the residence and left behind a trail of blood Saturday night, police said.
According to police, a 24-year-old woman who lived inside the West Avenue home heard glass breaking inside her bedroom and entered the room to find a man, who told her “I’m sorry,” before fleeing through a broken window at 11 p.m.
Officers arrived to the scene and followed a trail of blood, which was left behind from the robbery, to a parking lot on Old Country Road where they found Hicksville resident Shane Lopez.

Lopez who was reportedly wearing all black and suffering from open bloody wounds to his head, arm and hands.
He was arrested and charged with second degree burglary. Lopez was arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.
