Storm Chances to Start the Work Week, Little Relief From The Heat
The heat index hit 109 degrees at MacArthur Airport on Sunday.

The good news: an excessive heat warning is finally over for Long Island. The heat index, how hot it feels when humidity is factored in, hit an astounding 109 degrees at Long Island MacArthur Airport on Sunday.
The bad news: we won't get much of a cool down during the work week and there are thunderstorms in the forecast once again.
"A slow-moving front will pull plentiful tropical moisture northward from the Gulf Coast early in the week," according to AccuWeather Long-Range Meteorologist Ed Vallee.
