On a beautiful October day, the Syosset Central School District held its annual Homecoming Game and Carnival capped with a resounding victory over Valley Stream Central High School.
Hundreds turned out for the community-wide event, which featured halftime show performances from the Syosset High School cheerleaders, kickline and marching band. “Brave Cat” also made an appearance to entertain the crowd and help the cheerleaders get the people loud.

“What I love about Homecoming is seeing how many people come back,” said Dr. Giovanni Durante, Syosset High School’s principal. “People who graduated from Syosset as far back as the 1970’s are now returning with their kids. And in addition to the spirit and the tradition of the Homecoming Game and Carnival, we’re seeing the entire Syosset community come together.”
During the game, the rides were in full swing at the Carnival across the field as community members hopped on the Ferris wheel, Gravitron and the carousel. The Carnival ran well into the evening with rides, games and a variety of food options.

The Syosset Braves Varsity Football team defeated Valley Stream Central, 41-0.
