Syosset High School Hosts Annual Wellness Fair

From Syosset HS: Syosset High School’s annual Health Fair, which took place in October, emphasized the importance of physical and mental wellness and underscored the school’s commitment to maintaining a healthy, respectful, supportive environment for all. Representatives from organizations such as the National Alliance of Mental Illness, Mental Health Association, Celiac Disease Foundation, and The Maurer Foundation for Breast Health Education provided information and guidance to students on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Students engaged in interactive exhibits that were educational and fun. A photo booth allowed students to share encouraging words and educational messages with a focus on ending the stigma and common misconceptions about mental health conditions. A Digital Detox Table provided students an opportunity to unplug and engage in mindfulness activities such as meditative coloring. And representatives from New York College of Health Professionals and LIU Post School of Health Professionals and Nursing shared information on health-related professions.
