Syosset Musicians Awarded Town Scholarships

The students plan to pursue an education in the arts.

Two Syosset High School musicians have been named recipients in the Town of Oyster Bay Arts Council’s 2016 Scholarship Program.

Michele Ripka and Jacob Sugarman each received a $500 award at the organization’s annual ceremony held at the Long Island High School for the Arts in April.

Michele and Jacob excel at the violin and bassoon, respectively.

TOBAC awards scholarships every year to high school seniors pursuing an education in the arts. Winners are named in a variety of categories, including vocal and instrumental music, literary arts and the visual arts.
