Voters Approve Syosset School Budget, Board Members Elected
Syosset residents headed to the polls Tuesday.

Syosset residents approved a 2016-17 school budget on Tuesday.
The $219,860,188 budget was approved by a margin of 1,505 to 425. The budget is a $4,274,736 increase in spending over the current year and it comes with a 0.14 percent tax levy increase.
The district says it will use this approved budget to continue to provide a full academic and co-curricular program while also addressing important areas of the school infrastructure.

Voters also re-elected three candidates, who ran unopposed, to the Syosset Board of Education,
Vote totals are as follows: Gershon – 1,444, Frankel – 1,448, and Parker – 1,524.
