Syosset School District Passes $306M School Budget, Announces Trustees After Contested Race

The district has announced the results of its budget and board of education election.

HICKSVILLE, NY — The Syosset Central School District's 2026-2027 budget passed on Tuesday by a large margin.

The budget of $306,874,324 passed by a vote of 1,914 to 909.

This was an increase of 3.74 percent from the current 2025-2026 $295,822,420.

For the Board of Education Trustees:

Incumbent Susan Falkove was re-elected with 2,041 votes.

Rahul K. Nabe was elected with 1,588 votes.

Inna Choi was elected with 1,848 votes.

The three seats were contested by challengers Brian Tvedt, who received 610 votes, Lisa Li, who received 766 votes, and Corey Witt, who received 500 votes.

The Proposition on the Library Budget passed with 2,004 to 812 votes.

Reid M. Goldsmith was elected to the Library Board of Trustees with 1,710 votes.

The budget carries a proposed tax levy increase of 2.20 percent from the current 2025-2026 tax levy.
