The Syosset School District opened its doors to students for the start of the 2017-18 school year on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Despite the usual opening day jitters expressed by some kindergartners, students arrived with smiling faces ready for the new year.
Prior to the first day of classes, three days of teacher workshops were held and secondary buildings hosted
middle and high school orientations to help sixth- and ninth-grade students become familiar with their new surroundings.
