Syosset Then and Now Answer: Syosset 1968 Prom

In honor of Syosset High School's senior prom, we traveled back to 44 years. Patch reader guessed that these kids attended the 1964 prom, while reader guessed 1970.

The answer is right in between those two guesses: the 1968 Syosset Senior Prom.

The teens pictured here, Linda Connor, Richie, Jane Rosenberg, and Michael Mark, attended their senior prom as Lyndon B. Johnson was wrapping up his presidency and Richard Nixon was winning over the nation. Aretha Franklin, The Mamas & the Papas, and Richard Harris -- yes, that's Professor Dumbledore and Oliver Cromwell -- were topping music charts. Andy Warhol was shot by art critic Valerie Solanas.
