Syosset Then and Now: Bee Gee at the Deli

The bustling little Long Island town of Syosset has had many facelifts over the years. Original structures have been remodeled and replaced, leaving just a shadow of the good old days of horse-drawn carriages and general stores.

But you never know what corner deli was once a hotspot for celebrities.

Robin Gibb of the famed disco era band The Bee Gees passed away earlier this week of colorectal cancer. As a Bee Gee and a solo artist, he traveled the world, performing hit songs for thousands of people.

So why did his career make a pit stop in Syosset in 1979? It wasn't for a sandwich at Village Hero, although he reportedly stopped in there from time to time.
