Syosset Wins 37 Medals At Long Island Math Fair

From Syosset HS: Students from Syosset High School, H.B. Thompson and South Woods Middle School competed at the Al Kalfus Long Island Math Fair held at Hofstra University and brought back an impressive 37 medals, including 11 gold, 14 sliver and 12 bronze medals. Syosset High School junior Lance Lampert won the prestigious Alice Griswold Award for the best Gold Medal paper in Nassau County.

The Al Kalfus Long Island Math Fair is sponsored by the Nassau County Association of Mathematics Supervisors (NCAMS). Students conducted extensive mathematical research on a topic of their choice, prepared a research paper and presented to judges from academia and local industries.
