Syosset Woman Injured in Fatal Penn. Wreck

A Syosset woman is listed in good condition after a one-car wreck that killed one woman and critically injured two other Long Islanders.

Tracey Cowit, 21, was initially listed in critical condition after the accident on Tuesday in Caernarvon Township, south of Reading, at approximately 4:05 p.m., the Pennsylvania State Police Department said.  

Commack's Robert Felberbaum, 20, was driving a 2010 Volkswagon GTI with three passengers when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel. All had their seat belts on at the time of the crash and were alive when support arrived at the scene, explained Cpl. Dan Moy of the Pennsylvania State Police Department.

Felberbaum was driving westbound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike when the car rolled off the embankment and hit a tree.

Kristin M. Green, 20, of Deer Park, died of injuries sustained during the accident. Felberbaum and Richard DiLorenzo, 21, of Levittown, are in fair condition at Reading Hospital. They were initially listed in critical condition. The updated conditions of Cowit, Felberbaum and DiLorenzo were confirmed by William Rudolph of Reading Hospital's communications department Wednesday afternoon.
