Anyone driving down Jericho Turnpike can see the progress being made at the former Jewel of India site.

The single-story restaurant was torn down months ago to make way for a two-story grouping of retail spaces.

Osio Salon, which has branches across Long Island, has already claimed a spot in the new building.
