More than 1,000 supporters attended the recent United Way of Long Island celebration, honoring its 50th anniversary, at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
The Deer Park-based organization works to improve the lives of children and struggling families through funding and programs focused on education, housing, healthcare, financial stability, employment and more.
The event raised more than $600,000 to help those in need across Long Island, the organization said.
