"Vive L'Affiche!" ~ Long Live the Poster!

Posters originated in Paris in the late 1800’s, as an eye-catching way to advertise things like food, liquor, travel, products or a show. These beautiful well designed lithographs, many of which are stone lithographs, were meant to be displayed for a few weeks then discarded. Few survive in good condition today.
