Nassau Crash Kills Woman, 3 Others Hospitalized: Police

SYOSSET, NY — An elderly woman was killed in a car crash Thursday afternoon in Syosset, police said.

The 88-year-old victim was driving a 2008 Mercury Milan when she was in a collision at the intersection of Split Rock Road and Monfort Place. She suffered severe trauma and was pronounced dead at an area hospital. A 78-year-old passenger was taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

The 54-year-old driver of the other vehicle, a 2020 Jaguar, and a 21-year-old passenger were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Police are investigating.
