X-rated Movie AUDIENCE???

Funny experience at the local multiplex!

X-Rated Movie AUDIENCE???

By: Carole Blake

We live in Jericho, NY, and are lucky enough to have an amazing multiplex movie theatre – with 12 individual theatres – in the very next town! What makes it amazing? Well, they recently renovated each theatre so that every single seat has become much like a chaise lounge. You just press the button on the left – near the cup-holder – and the seat can recline so that it’s just like you’re watching the movie from your bed! When you buy the tickets, you are shown the seating chart, and you select the seats you want. There is one ‘handicap row’, but unless the show is sold out, you can choose any seat. It is our experience that there is NO bad seat!

My husband and I love to go to movie matinees on the weekends and holidays. A couple of weeks ago we bought our tickets for a 3:00 show early in the day. We decided to do a little shopping and then go to the movie. Since we had our stubs, we wouldn’t have to wait on line at the box office. We decided to get there about 10 minutes after “show time” because we didn’t feel like watching all those fifty million previews all the movie theatres play.

So, there we were, entering our theatre just moments before our movie would start. We had our tickets for aisle seats G1 and G2. The problem was…at this point…the theatre was pitch dark! We couldn’t see a thing! We couldn’t tell if the theatre was packed…or empty. NOTHING! We did, however, see tiny little lights on the floor signifying the rows such as A, B, C, D, etc.

We got to row G – as our tickets suggested – and I was blindly feeling around for the seat. That’s when I heard a guy’s voice say to me, “You’re holding my toes!” OMG! Someone was sitting in one of our seats! And I was holding his toes! (Hey, when you’re in ‘bed’, you like to take off your shoes!) And his buddy was sitting right next to him! I kind of screamed and quickly released his foot, and my husband said, “You’re sitting in our seats! We have G1 and G2!” The two guys said, “Sorry!” and they got up and apparently found two other beds…I mean seats!

We were laughing so hard, we could hardly calm down as the opening credits were being shown. We loved the movie! We can’t wait till our next movie!

But I think next time maybe I should bring a flashlight!
