1. Former priest who inappropriately texted underage girl leaves Syracuse Diocese (syracuse.com) — The Syracuse Catholic Diocese says former priest Nathan Brooks, once assigned to several parishes south of Syracuse, has been formally removed from the priesthood after an internal review found abuse allegations credible. 3. North Syracuse school district plans major reconfiguration for 2027-28 school year (cnycentral.com) — North Syracuse Central School District will overhaul its grade configuration by fall 2027, shifting elementary schools to pre-K–3, middle schools to grades 4–6, junior high to 7–8, and Cicero-North Syracuse High School to a traditional 9–12 campus. Leaders say the move, driven by enrollment and budget pressures, aims to expand academic options, improve athletics logistics, and stabilize finances while planning for possible Micron-fueled growth.
4. Golden Corral in Queensbury reopens after filing for bankruptcy (news10.com) — A company that owns Golden Corral locations in Queensbury and Syracuse has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, allowing both restaurants to keep operating while restructuring a large tax debt. State tax officials had briefly seized the Queensbury site, but control of both locations has since been returned, and the Syracuse restaurant is expected to remain open to patrons during the process.
5.
