Doctors urge residents to check their measles, mumps and rubella vaccinations, stressing how contagious and dangerous the disease is, and local health departments list expanded clinic hours and appointment options across the region.
   

2. Teaching Assistant (syracuse.com) — If you live in Syracuse and want to work in local schools, the Syracuse City School District is hiring full-time teaching assistants for its 35 schools and programs. Positions are 10-month, 35-hour-per-week roles supporting classroom instruction, including special education, with salaries starting near $29,000–$33,000 plus benefits while you hold or pursue New York State teaching assistant certification.
   

3. Moyers Corners firefighters run to remember 25 years after 9/11 (localsyr.com) — Moyers Corners firefighters in Clay marked the 25th anniversary of 9/11 with their annual 7.2-mile run, and this year they also honored Syracuse Police Officer Michael Jensen and Onondaga County Sheriff's Lt.
