Deputies urge anyone with information to contact the Sheriff's Warrant Division or submit an anonymous Tip411 message, and to call 911 rather than approach him directly if spotted.

2. Take one, leave one: That's the rule behind Syracuse's whimsical new trinket trade box (syracuse.com) — A new pink trinket trading box on Westcott Street invites Syracuse neighbors to swap small treasures under a simple rule: take one, leave one. Created by local social worker Melissa Spangenberg outside Westcott Barber, the box has quickly become a joyful stop for kids, college students, and visitors, and may inspire similar boxes in other city neighborhoods.

3. RetroGameCon draws gamers from around the world to Syracuse (dailyorange.com) — RetroGameCon just wrapped up at Syracuse's Oncenter, drawing more than 10,000 gamers, cosplayers, and vendors and giving downtown businesses a noticeable boost. Attendees enjoyed retro and modern games, celebrity guests, and charity raffles supporting Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital, while local artists and vendors used the three-day event to grow their creative businesses and communities.

4. TV and start time set for Syracuse game vs. St. John's at MSG (syracuse.com) — Syracuse fans now know the details for the Orange's return to Madison Square Garden, with the St. John's game set for Sunday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. on Peacock and NBCSN. The article also lays out SU's full 2026–27 schedule, including exhibitions, Dome home games, and key ACC matchups that local fans can plan around.

5. SU's Banned Book Week emphasizes need for intellectual freedom (dailyorange.com) — Syracuse University Libraries are marking Banned Books Week with campus events from Oct. 5–9 that spotlight intellectual freedom and access to information. Readouts, displays, and panels at Bird Library and the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library will explore censorship's impact, especially on marginalized communities, and encourage students to consider their role in protecting free expression.
