Binghamton University Dining Services (BUDS) today announced that Sean Sculley is promoted from service manager to executive chef

Binghamton University Dining Services (BUDS) today announced that Sean Sculley is promoted from service manager to executive chef at Appalachian Dining Center on campus.
The 500-student dining hall features eight food stations in the main servery including the Bearcat Bakery, Simple Servings and La Montana. The building also houses a C-store and Nite Owl downstairs from the main dining center.
Sculley’s responsibilities include overseeing all production and training at the dining hall for a team of approximately 55 including student and full-time employees.

Originally from Huntington, New York, one of Sculley’s first jobs was at Dairy Barn on Long Island. He moved to Binghamton, New York in 2005 and has worked on campus with Binghamton University Dining Services since 2006.
Sculley worked at Newing Dining Hall for three years, Hinman Dining Hall for five years and Appalachian Dining Hall for a year to open the Nourish U (now Simple Servings) station.

In the interim, Sculley worked in Cooperstown, Albany, and Endwell, NY with Sodexo Senior Services/Health Care division. He returned to Binghamton University and the BUDS team in 2015 as food service manager at C4 Dining Hall until his recent appointment to executive chef.
Sculley is AllerTrain and ServSafe certified and a part of the American Culinary Foundation. He is also a classically trained jazz musician, sound engineer and overall music-lover.
