Witty Wicks Turns Candle-Making Into a Flexible Drop-In Experience at Township 5

CAMILLUS, NY — Looking for something fun to do before dinner or a movie?

Witty Wicks at Township 5 is launching a new drop-in candle-making experience that gives guests the chance to create their own custom-scented candle in a relaxed, self-guided setting.

The locally owned candle and gift shop has long been known for its monthly group candle-making classes, but owner Aubry Ludington said this new format was designed to make the experience more flexible and spontaneous for couples, friends, and small groups.

“Our scheduled monthly group candle-making classes continue to be popular for birthdays, parties, and planned outings,” Ludington said. “This new experience was designed for more spur-of-the-moment visits, whether you’re heading to dinner, meeting friends at Township 5, or looking for a unique date night activity. We wanted people to be able to stop in, create their own custom fragrance, and make the experience part of their day.”

The experience is designed for two to three guests at a time and takes approximately 45 minutes. Guests can mix fragrance oils to create a personalized scent before pouring their own candle. Candles can be picked up later that evening or the following day after they cool and set.

The launch also adds another activity option to the growing Township 5 destination area, which includes restaurants like Bullfinch Tap House & Bistro, Toss & Fire Wood-Fired Pizza and Mitsuba, as well as shopping and entertainment, like Movie Tavern.

Witty Wicks said the experience is ideal for date nights, girls outings, mother-daughter activities, or anyone looking for something creative to do in Central New York.
