Statement by Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh:

“Linking evictions and rent collection to compliance with the Rental Registry is another way we can improve quality of life in the City of Syracuse. More properties in the registry will make our neighborhoods stronger and ensure better quality housing. I look forward to signing it. I commend Councilor Latoya Allen and Councilor Michael Greene for advancing the legislation and the Common Council for unanimously approving it today. I also thank the Corporation Counsel’s office for working with the Council to draft the law and the rest of the our City team which will be responsible for enacting it.”
