Syracuse Anti-Poverty Group Seeks to Fund Partners

Syracuse Anti-Poverty Coalition, Funded by New York State, is seeking business and nonprofit partners to fund.

Syracuse, NY – The Greater Syracuse H.O.P.E. Initiative will hold a press conference to announce their request for proposals from community partners on Monday, December 4 at 1:30 pm at the Gifford Room of United Way offices located at 518 James Street, Syracuse, NY 13203.

Greater Syracuse H.O.P.E. (Healing Opportunity, Prosperity, and Empowerment) is a part of the Governor’s Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative (ESPRI). H.O.P.E. is looking for partners to assist in developing and implementing strategies that can effectively address poverty in Syracuse. H.O.P.E. seeks to develop partnerships that will pilot and evaluate innovative programs that can be replicated and scaled; promote innovation in the public sector; and/or promote “smart” public policies at the local and state level that achieve H.O.P.E.’s goals. The Request for Community Partnerships (RFCP) is a call to community organizations, public entities and other partners to develop proposals that meet these criteria.
Responses to this RFCP can include submissions from public and private industries.

“We understand that poverty is a community-wide issue. Its effects are not limited to one specific industry. We see the importance of including strategies from businesses and potential private sector partners as well as nonprofits and grassroots groups,” says Ocesa Keaton, Executive Director.
