“I look forward to this opportunity to report to the Council and the community on the progress we are making and on how we will address the challenges that are ahead for the City,” said Mayor Walsh. “I’m proud to deliver my third State of the City address on the campus of SUNY Upstate
Medical University.”
“Upstate plays a central role in meeting the medical and health needs of people across our City. Upstate Medical University is a major driver of our local and regional economy. Upstate has been and will continue to be a critical partner in achieving our vision of being a growing city that
embraces diversity and creates opportunity for all,” said Mayor Walsh.
According to Dr. Mantosh Dewan, Interim President of SUNY Upstate Medical University, “As the largest employer in Central New York — as well as the region’s leading researchers in bioscience, providers of specialized clinical care, and educators of tomorrow’s healthcare professionals — Upstate Medical University understands the importance of connecting people, technology and services. We applaud Mayor Walsh for his leadership toward Syracuse’s future, and we’re excited to partner with his administration on this important State of the City address.”
The Mayor’s speech will be delivered from the 4th
floor Lecture Hall in the Academic Building located behind Weiskotten Hall on
the Upstate Campus. The auditorium features two story windows facing west that
overlook Downtown Syracuse and large parts of the City. The State of the City
address is free and open to the public.
