1 Dead In Greenburgh Accident Friday

The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

GREENBURGH, NY — An accident Friday afternoon on I-87 claimed one life. State Police said they are investigating the accident which occurred near mile post marker 11.3 in the Town of Greenburgh around 4:40 p.m. Friday, March 2.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was transported to Westchester Medical Center with serious life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.

The driver’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The accident is being reconstructed by the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and is still under investigation.

Police said more information will be released as it becomes available.
