11-Month-Old Baby In Car As Driver Arrested On Sprain For Felony DWI: NYSP

GREENBURGH, NY — An early Sunday morning traffic stop in Westchester led to felony charges, after the driver was found to be intoxicated with a baby in the car, according to police.

At approximately 2:11 a.m., New York State Police in Hawthorne stopped a vehicle traveling south on the Sprain Brook Parkway, in the town of Greenburgh

During the traffic stop, the driver, identified as 31-year-old Jazmir I. Skeete, of Tarrytown, showed signs of intoxication, according to troopers. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered.

In addition, an 11-month-old child was a passenger in the vehicle, according to NYSP.

Skeete was taken into custody and transported to State Police Hawthorne for processing, where she submitted to a chemical breath test that showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.13 percent.

The child was released to a sober third party.

Skeete was charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger (Leandra's Law), driving while intoxicated, and operating a motor vehicle with 0.08 percent or more alcohol in the blood.

Skeete was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Greenburgh Court on Sept. 18.
