11 year old pleads with Greenburgh Town Board to clean up Riley Pond
link to his presentation below
11 year old Parker Lebret, who just completed his 6th grade studies at the RJ Bailey School, impressed all the members of the Greenburgh Town Board when he spoke at our June 25th Town Board meeting. The eleven-year-old student highlighted the need to clean the pond behind the RJ Bailey School and Greenburgh Police headquarters
Parker highlighted the impact that pollution at the pond is having on turtles. He pleaded with the Board to save the turtles. Parker collected 313 petition signatures from students’ parents, teachers to save the turtles.
I will follow up with Parker and with town staff to come up with plans to make the pond cleaner and to save the turtles.
I think that residents who watch the video will agree with the Town Board – that Parker has a bright future as a future elected official. If, one day in the future, there is a United States Senator by the name of Parker Lebret we will be able to take pride that he got his start at RJ Bailey School in Greenburgh.
