2 Arrested After Dog Found Dead At Greenburgh Home
Police said they found a dead pit bull terrier that had been beaten and burned in a fire pit.
GREENBURGH, NY — Two men were arrested after a dead dog was found beaten and burned. Greenburgh police were called around 5:45 a.m. July 13 to investigate a reported incident of animal cruelty.
When officers arrived at the Greenburgh residence, a dead pit bull terrier was found, police said. It had been beaten and burned in a metal fire pit in the back yard of the residence, according to authorities.
The homeowner — Danilo Tolentino, 59 — was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and tampering with physical evidence, felonies.

Ian De Los Reyes, 33, who was described by police as a live-in guest, was charged with felony aggravated animal cruelty under the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law.
Tolentino was sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or bond.
