3 Lanes on TZB to Close for Construction on Weekend
The Thruway Authority said motorists can expect severe delays and urges them to avoid traveling in the area.

There are likely to be big traffic headaches for those traveling on the Tappan Zee Bridge this weekend.
Because of planned construction work, the New York State Thruway Authority will be closing three of the four northbound lanes—Westchester County to Rockland County—from 9 p.m. Friday, April 29, to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30.
Three lanes will be closed again from 9 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1.

All three lanes in southbound direction will remain open.
The Thruway Authority said motorists traveling northbound on I-87/I-287 in the vicinity of the bridge should plan for severe delays from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

It advises motorists to seek alternate routes and avoid travel in the area during those times.
In case of inclement weather, construction will be postponed until Friday, May 6 beginning at 9 p.m. with completion by 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7.
