The Town of Greenburgh is creating a “living history” project about the impact of the Sept. 11, 2001 World Trade Center terrorist attacks on the residents of our town. The goal is to honor the lives of those who died or were injured. We hope to preserve the memories of our loved ones so future generations will not forget, but rather learn from this tragedy.

The project will consist of videotaped interviews to be made available to local cable TV and YouTube, as well as the Greenburgh Public Library, area schools, and local historians.

Perhaps you lost a loved one – a family member, or a friend, and would like their story to be told. Or, you had a compelling experience that day as a survivor of the attacks. Maybe you were a first responder who went to the World Trade Center site. Or you might simply know someone with an account of 9/11 that should be shared for posterity.

If you would like to participate by telling your story please contact me (with your name, email and phone#), and our 9/11 Living History Committee will get in touch with further details. Everyone’s story will be treated with sensitivity. We hope you will take part in this important project. My e mail is pfeiner@greenburghny.com

Thank you.
