A Longer Al Fresco Dining Season in Tarrytown

The Board approved on Monday, with no objection or comments from the public, a longer sidewalk dining season for local restaurants with permits.

Sidewalk café dining in Tarrytown, which has been limited to an April 1 start, will have the opportunity for an earlier jump next year after the board approved a March 15 opening day for the open-air experience.

The request to do this came from the Merchants' Council. Vendors are required to secure a permit for the privilege of sidewalk usage, available now from March 15 through season's close on November 30.

No one spoke at a public hearing on the change, but surely Nature will have the final word.
