'You Are Not Alone,' 3 Violent Deaths Shock A Westchester Community

GREENBURGH, NY — After a tragic scene unfolded in a close-knit Westchester community, the town's top elected official is mourning the loss, and reminding those in seemingly hopeless situations that help is available.

"Yesterday was a sad day in Greenburgh," Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said in a message to the community this morning. "A murder suicide left three of our neighbors dead in the Parkway Homes section of Greenburgh. The Greenburgh police reported on News 12 that they have 'reason to believe that this was an isolated domestic violence incident.'"

Westchester's longest serving chief elected municipal official urged those who might find themselves in similar circumstances to seek help before it is too late.

"If you are worried about domestic violence in your family the most important thing to know is that you are not alone," Feiner said. "There are many resources available. Acting early and safely can prevent them."

The supervisor said that if it is believed someone is in immediate danger, calling the police or 911, is imperative

"Leave the home if you can do so safely. Go to a neighbor, public place or somewhere with people," Feiner urged. "Teach children how to dial the police and where to go. Keep keys, phone, ID and some cash that is easy to have access to. Come up with a safety plan for yourself."
